A new Friendsgiving tradition?

Choosing who you’d like to have at your dinner table is becoming increasingly important these days, but what about who you’d like to have on a private island?

Hotels.com is giving a group of paradise-seekers a chance to rent an entire island off the Florida coast for the week of November 14 to November 21 for $2,000 total, plus tax. This decked-out home sleeps six people and comes complete a moat, pool,  wraparound terrace and a professional chef that will whip up a Friendsgiving dinner for the whole crew.

This slice of heaven usually costs $1,350 per night or more, so around $50 a night between you and your five favorite people is an absolute steal. The only catch is that the reservations work on a first-come, first-served basis and online booking opens on Tuesday, October 27, at 7 am PDT here

East Sister Rock Island, (or “Friendsgiving Island” as the Hotel.com is currently listing it as) is a quarter-mile from Marathon, in the Florida Keys. This part of the Atlantic is home to some incredible coral reefs making it a snorkeling and fishing haven with endless flats to explore. It was also built before any laws were in place, meaning there is literally nothing else like it.

Of course, there’s a helicopter pad and a boat dock so you can arrive in style. Then, once your feet touch down on the beautiful white, sandy shores, you can make yourself at home in the spacious abode with three bedrooms and two baths all drenched in sunlight.

There are dozens of watersports like kitesurfing and kayaking to keep you busy—or just to give you a break from your island companions. If you’re more into activities that involve minimal movement, then you can soak up the sun in a hammock with a book while the sun sinks into the ocean. The rest of your time can be spent wandering the 2700 square-foot veranda with 360-degrees views of the turquoise waters.

Guests will have an open-plan kitchen to cook up the catch of the day with the choice of an indoor or an outdoor dining area to enjoy meals in. Not that it’s necessary, but there’s a fireplace and a satellite tv with comfy couches if you find yourself having lockdown withdrawals.

While this offer will only be given to one bunch of lucky Thanksgiving adventurers, it’s available to rent throughout the year at higher rates and a minimum stay of 7 nights.

So get those fingers warmed up and get ready to book you and your pals the holiday of your dreams!
