Joining the list of interactive food museums may be one of LA’s most creative visitors yet! π©
Taking over the former space of the Museum of Ice Cream on October 1st is Cheat Day Land, a creative experience for healthy eaters to indulge in a day of every junk food craving imaginable! Rubi Rymenmy came up with the idea in Japan while visiting museums which all shared a common theme: her favorite “cheat day” foods. As a self-proclaimed clean eater and coming from a family that owns a Flying Aerial fitness studio in Lomita, Rymenmy reserves only a handful of days for junk foods per month. That’s why she came up with the idea of a space where a healthy lifestyle could take a break from daily dietary restrictions – because everyone’s entitled to a cheat day!
Expect twelve cheat meal-themed rooms like a donut gym and a life-size bowl of cereal. Rymenmy explains that Cheat Day Land is “a space where you are able to truly experience each piece of art, to immerse yourself in it.” The pop-up isn’t just about indulgence, the event plans to offer sensible ideas on balancing a healthy lifestyle with snacking and guilt-free cheating. Local designers are in the works of creating a “Cheater” brand of merchandise, including t-shirts, shoes, or hats showing off the logo!
