Summer in Southern California is built around outdoor seasonal experiences, where open spaces and countryside venues become natural destinations for events that combine food, scenery, and live entertainment in a relaxed setting.
At the center of this seasonal tradition is the Lavender Festival at 123 Farm in Cherry Valley, held at Highland Springs Ranch & Inn. Now in its 22nd edition, it has become one of the most established large-scale farm events in the region, taking place across a massive 20-acre field.
During the day, the experience is centered on walking the fields and taking in the scenery. Visitors move through rows of blooming crops. As the sun begins to set, the farm becomes especially photogenic, with golden hour drawing many of the day’s visitors outdoors for photos and slower exploration.
But the best part comes as daylight fades, where more than 100,000 lights gradually transform the property into an illuminated nighttime setting, extending the visit well beyond sunset, featuring live music performances.
Food and drink stations are spread throughout the grounds, offering seasonal items inspired by the harvest, including the already famous and unique lavender ice cream!
