It may be a bit early in the week for a cheat day, but in honor of National Cheeseburger Day… we won’t tell anyone. 😉
Did you know that L.A. is alledgely the birthplace of cheeseburgers? Back in 1924 a chef over at Pasadena’s the Rite Spot named Lionel Sternberger felt spontaneous and threw a piece of cheese on top of a patty while it was sizzling on the grill. Fast forward to almost a century later and over 50 million cheeseburgers are ordered in America a year!
September 18 is the one day during the year in which we can feel guilt-free for eating a gloriously greasy meal all for the sake of celebrating a fake holiday. Truthfully, we can’t think of a better excuse for sampling some of the best burgers in town. In commemoration of classic and specialty cheeseburgers alike, we’ve come up with a list of some of the best spots in Los Angeles offering deals on this god sent holiday.
1. Plan Check Kitchen + Bar
The Plan Check Burger is the resturant’s signature item, and tomorrow it will be available for a discounted price of $9.99 (the burger is usually $14.50.) This deal is available at all locations all the way from Downtown to Pasadena!
2. Dog Haus
The joint dishing out King’s Hawaiian Sweet Roll “buns” is bringing back their National Cheeseburger Day special! At any location, be sure to ask for an upgrade and they’ll make it a double and add another slice of cheese at no extra charge!
3. Farmer Boys
The longtime burger spot plans on offering $1 cheeseburgers when guests mention the holiday before ordering. Basically, you’ll be getting a pretty-much-free meal at all locations including Hollywood and Downtown.
4. Wendy’s
The infamous fast food chain is joining the festivities by offering guests an extra patty and slice of cheese for the rest of the month! The only catch? You have to place the order through the Wendy’s mobile app to receive the promo.
5. Red Robin
Make sure to wear your stretchy pants because the deals going on at Red Robin are bottomless! Because of National Cheeseburger Day, you can order a gourmet cheeseburger with bottomless steak fries for only $5!
6. Ihop
The house of pancakes recently went through a marketing campaign where they changed their name to “Ihob” – the International House Of Burgers. Tomorrow when guests order a burger, it will come with a free stack of pancakes – the best of both worlds!
