L.A. is about to get another unexpected World Cup destination this summer, and it comes with sweeping city views, gardens, and one of the most beautiful settings imaginable for watching soccer.
Beginning June 11, the Getty Center will host a series of FIFA World Cup watch parties throughout June and July. They’re transforming parts of its hilltop campus into gathering spaces where visitors can catch featured matches while surrounded by world-famous architecture, gardens, and sunset views.
Rather than crowding into sports bars, fans can spend match day watching games from outdoor café spaces and lounge areas while enjoying food, drinks, and one of Los Angeles’ most iconic cultural destinations.
⚽ What to expect at Getty Center’s World Cup watch parties
This isn’t your average sports viewing experience. Throughout June and July, visitors can expect:
• Featured matches streamed on large viewing screens
• Multiple watch locations across the Getty campus
• Special food and drink menu offerings during matches
• Outdoor viewing spaces with garden and city views
• Sunset screenings during extended Friday hours
• Family-friendly spaces with free admission
• One of the most scenic World Cup viewing experiences in Los Angeles
Games will be shown primarily at the Trellis Bar & Lounge and Garden Terrace Café, though visitors should check signs on-site for final viewing locations on match days.
Keep in mind that while admission to the Getty Center is free, timed-entry reservations are still required.
Even better – parking is free after 5:00 PM between June 11 and July 19, making evening matches significantly easier for visitors.

🌅 Extended Friday hours mean sunset soccer
For select Fridays, June 12, June 19, June 26, and July 3, the Getty Center is extending operating hours from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
That means visitors can spend an afternoon exploring galleries and gardens before transitioning directly into evening matches with sunset views over Los Angeles.
These extended hours also coincide with some of the tournament’s biggest matchups, including:
• USA vs Paraguay — June 12 at 6:00 PM
• Brazil vs Haiti — June 19 at 5:30 PM
• Uruguay vs Spain — June 26 at 5:00 PM
• Additional knockout-stage matches continuing through July
🌎 More than just soccer
These watch parties are an opportunity to experience one of L.A.’s most iconic destinations in an entirely different way.
