Halloween month is officially in full swing, which means L.A. is filling up with trick-or-treating events, costume parties, spooky attractions, and plenty of excuses to embrace the darker side of the season.
But if haunted houses and candy aren’t quite your thing, there’s another way to celebrate: stepping into the strange and unsettling world of one of history’s most prominent horror writers, Edgar Allan Poe.
Edgar Allan Poe’s stories come alive through theater, music, and cocktails

Night of Poe is bringing the author’s most famous tales to life through a theatrical experience that combines storytelling, live music, atmospheric performances, and cocktails. The limited-time production will take over the Hudson Theatres L.A. for just two nights, November 20 and 21.
Rather than simply watching a traditional stage performance, guests are taken through a 90-minute journey inspired by Poe’s world of mystery, obsession, madness, and the macabre. Actors, musicians, and performers reimagine his stories through theatrical scenes and live storytelling, bringing the writer’s unsettling characters and tales out from the page and into the room.
The experience draws from some of Poe’s best-known works, including “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Raven,” weaving the stories together with atmospheric soundscapes and live performances.

And yes, there are cocktails involved. Four complimentary themed cocktails are included with admission, with each drink designed to accompany the experience rather than simply serve as a pre-show beverage. Mocktails are also available upon request.
The soundtrack adds another layer of gothic atmosphere. The music was written and produced by Danny Elfman, the composer behind Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, and other famously dark scores.
