Fall fun is taking over Los Angeles County once again as the L.A. Fall Fair is back at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area this October, bringing 12 acres of carnival attractions, fair food and family-friendly entertainment to South El Monte.
2026 marks its 46th year of the annual celebration featuring everything from spinning rides to live music and local artisan vendors.
A giant Ferris wheel, carnival rides, and more
Running from October 23 through November 1, the L.A. Fall Fair transforms La Prada Event Plaza into a sprawling carnival packed with attractions for different ages, with general admission costing just $5. The fair is open Thursdays from 5 to 10 p.m., Fridays from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 2 to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m.
Families can take a spin on the giant Ferris wheel, ride the merry-go-round, or try the bumper cars, while thrill-seekers can head for more intense attractions like the Zipper, Kamikaze and Star Flyer Tower.
There’s plenty to do between rides, too. You can try your luck at carnival games, browse local artisan booths and grab a bite at the on-site food court. Live music is also scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays, adding another reason to make a weekend visit.
The fair will be open on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, with special activities for costumed guests. Anyone arriving in a costume can receive free cotton candy while supplies last, and kids can collect candy at the carnival rides and games during the trick-or-treat event.
There’s also a scavenger hunt for children ages 12 and under. The first 140 kids to complete it will win a stuffed animal. Just leave capes, long jewelry, and anything that could get caught on a ride at home.
