The two things we really want during all of this…
On Sunday evening, The Los Angeles Mayor ordered the city’s bars, entertainment venues, and restaurants to shut down through the end of the month leaving eateries throughout the city scrambling to offer delivery and take-out services. A taco shop in the Arts District is doing its part to brighten up the community by coming up with a clever way to offer locals two of the hottest commodities in town right now — tacos and toilet paper.
Guerrilla Tacos‘ “emergency kit” includes five pounds of roasted chicken, five pounds of carne asada, a quart of red salsa, a quart of green salsa, tortillas, cilantro, beans, onions, rice, 30 eggs, as well as FOUR. ROLLS. OF. TOILET. PAPER.
For those who have braved the grocery store lines over the weekend, it’s well known that toilet paper has been flying off the shelves lately. Guerrilla’s Chef Wes Avila came up with the idea to satisfy not only the stomachs of Angelenos who plan on staying indoors to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus but also the… err, minds of those who haven’t been able to restock on basic household necessities due to hoarding and “panic shopping”.
The four-person taco dinner is being sold for $150 and can be ordered via the Guerrilla Tacos website; orders are available for pick up through a walk-up to-go window attached to the restaurant.
