“The way we see it, our beer is for everyone to enjoy!”
Bud Light is showing how much support they have for the LGTBQ community by decking their beer bottles in rainbow colors for Pride Month! However, the light beer brewer’s support has been expressed further than a colorful marketing plan – over the past two decades, Bud Light has partnered with GLAAD (formerly the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.)
“The way we see it, our beer is for everyone to enjoy,” said Andy Goeler, Bud Light’s VP of Marketing. “With the release of these new bottles, we hope to create something that everyone can feel proud to hold during Pride month.”
The rainbow-colored aluminum bottles will hit the shelves nationwide by May 27 and will continue to sell through the end of June; one dollar will be donated to GLAAD for every case sold.
In addition to a new and improved look and donations to a great cause, Bud Light also plans to sponsor of the Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC on May 31 to June 2. The company will host an all-LGBT lineup of performers on its own stage inside of the festival! And to top it all off, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the riots at New York’s Stonewall Inn that launched the gay rights movement.
“Bud Light stood with the community at a time when many brands did not, and their continued outspoken support sets the bar for other global brands,” Zeke Stokes, GLAAD’s chief programs officer, said in a new release.
