As summer winds down and Labor Day weekend approaches, Southern California’s warm weather (and the coming heatwave!) still gives us plenty of reasons to get outside and make the most of the season’s final days.
One of those options is Cali Splash Park, the massive floating attraction at Castaic Lake where visitors can climb, slide, balance, and bounce their way across more than 50 obstacles. After a summer of splashing around, the park is now getting ready for its final weekend of 2026.
Cali Splash Park is wrapping up its 2026 season
With Labor Day weekend just around the corner, Cali Splash Park is getting ready to wrap up its 2026 season at Castaic Lake. The park’s final day of the 2026 season will be Monday, September 7, giving visitors one last chance to take on its giant floating playground before it closes for the year.
The seasonal attraction has become a popular summer destination for anyone looking to trade a traditional pool day for something a little more active, with a sprawling course that puts visitors right in the middle of the lake.
What you’ll find inside Cali Splash Park
The floating playground features more than 50 obstacles, including climbing towers, balance bridges, slides, trampolines and interconnected platforms.
Instead of simply swimming or floating around, visitors make their way across the inflatable course, climbing, jumping, balancing and scrambling from one obstacle to the next. Since the entire course is floating on the water, falling in is inevitably part of the fun.
After tackling the course, visitors can also enjoy other outdoor activities around the lake, including swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding and hiking.
Castaic Lake, home to Cali Splash Park
Cali Splash Park sits in the Castaic Lagoon, the lower section of Castaic Lake. As the largest reservoir in L.A. County, the lake offers plenty of space for outdoor recreation beyond the floating attraction. The lake is divided into two main areas:
- The Upper Lake: With 29 miles of shoreline, this section is geared toward motorized activities such as powerboating, jet skiing and sailing.
- The Castaic Lagoon: The quieter lower section is reserved for non-motorized activities including kayaking, paddleboarding and swimming. It’s also where you’ll find Cali Splash Park.
Beyond the water, the surrounding park spans more than 11,000 acres of open space, with trails for hiking and mountain biking.
With the 2026 season ending after Labor Day weekend, this is the final window to experience Cali Splash Park until it returns next summer.
