Would you consider volunteering at the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games here in Los Angeles?
If you’ve been following the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Games as closely as we have, then you’ve probably spotted the volunteers in their navy blue Salomon uniforms—gathering at the start and finish lines of events, helping spectators find their seats, and covering all sorts of unseen duties behind the scenes.
While the Winter Games have hired about 18,000 volunteers, the Summer Games in Paris hired more than double that, with 45,000 volunteers on site to keep things running smoothly. And with LA28 events happening at nearly 40 venues in and around the city, you can bet that the 2028 Summer Olympic & Paralympic Games will need to rally an impressive workforce in the tens of thousands.
If the spirit of the Winter Games has you looking at the LA28 Volunteer Program with renewed interest, it’s not too early to register! Keep reading for everything we know so far.
How and when do I register to volunteer at LA28?
LA28 has already kicked off its volunteer program with a registration form available on their website.
If you’re interested in volunteering, you can now register your name, email, country, and volunteer preference, so that you’ll be one of the first to hear next steps for the application process. In fact, some LA28 volunteers have already begun working in the community in pre-Games roles.
The official application process will begin in the summer of 2026, at which point you can submit more personal details including your professional skills and availability. Then, the Olympic Committee holds selection interviews, and chosen applicants can begin training sessions for the Summer 2028 Games.
