Studio Ghibli fans in L.A. have the unique opportunity to screen a select few of Hayao Miyazaki’s beloved films on the big screen this summer!
Clothing brand UNIQLO is launching its third collaboration collection with Studio Ghibli on July 10.
According to a press release, the 14 exclusive designs in the My Dear collection feature “art that expresses emblematic Ghibli works, along with works by Thai artist Kanyada Phatan and Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki.”
The collection will feature art from eight of the production studio’s films, including the Academy Award-winning film The Boy and The Heron. It includes t-shirts and sweatshirts sized for adults and children.
Anyone who purchases the new collection in-store at UNIQLO Century City or UNIQLO Glendale in Los Angeles on July 10 or July 11 will receive a voucher for 2 tickets to a special screening of a Studio Ghibli film of their choice at Brain Dead Studios in the Fairfax district.
The tickets are no extra cost and include a screening of one of three films: Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, or Howl’s Moving Castle.
The screening/pop-up will take place at Brain Dead Studios on July 12. On top of the screening, guests will be able to enjoy complimentary concessions inspired by Japanese convenience stores, take photos in a Studio Ghibli-inspired photobooth, and screen their selected Studio Ghibli film.
