The World Cup’s time in Los Angeles is entering its final chapter. Today, Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood opens its gates for the last time this tournament, closing out what’s been a thrilling summer of football
However, the celebration doesn’t end when the stadium goes quiet. This weekend, Venice Beach hosts the official Los Angeles World Cup Fan Zone, keeping the tournament’s energy alive right through the remaining quarter-finals, this time on the sand instead of the pitch.
🏖️ What to expect
The Fan Zone transforms Windward Plaza into a full-scale viewing destination, anchored by a stadium-grade LED screen broadcasting live matches. It’s designed to feel like a stadium watch party brought outdoors, with the Pacific as a backdrop instead of stadium seating.
Beyond the matches, the weekend is packed with programming:
- 🎧 Live music and DJ sets between and after matches
- 🌮 Global food vendors and coastal hospitality partners
- 🎉 Windward Avenue Block Party, with the street closed to traffic from Speedway to Pacific
- 🍹 VIP experiences for guests 21 and up, including private cabanas and lounges
- 📸 Country fan sections and photo moments
- 👨👩👧 Family-friendly daytime programming, including free water refills
- 🌅 Boardwalk access with Pacific Ocean views
The weekend also brings three official after-parties: tonight, an 18+ celebration hosted by Defected, a Sunday closing party featuring Sidepiece and Ship Wrek, and a Revival block party on July 19 to close out the World Cup Final.
How to get there
Parking near Venice Beach is extremely limited, so organizers strongly encourage arriving by transit:
- 🚈 Metro E Line: Ride to the Downtown Santa Monica terminus, then connect via Big Blue Bus Route 1
- 🚌 Big Blue Bus: Route 1 stops at Windward Ave/Main St, a 3-minute walk from the Fan Zone
- 🚏 Metro Bus 33: Runs east-west along Venice Boulevard, direct from Downtown L.A., Mid-City, and Culver City
- 🚲 Bike: Use the Marvin Braude Bike Trail along the coast, or Venice Blvd bike lanes from the east
- 🚶 Walk: About 35 minutes south from Downtown Santa Monica along the boardwalk
