We’ll have a Bloody Rancor with a bone, please!
Summer is almost here, which means the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will be here any day now. In addition to themed activities, rides, as well as the park’s first booze-filled bar Ogas Cantina, we can of course expect out of this world (or shall we say universe) dishes! If you’ve spent years wondering what Luke Skywalker’s favorite meal was – this is the place to finally get an answer. [Featured Photos: Disney Parks]
Down a tall glass of blue, or green, milk – a plant-based dairy version of the strange galactic liquid you’ve seen on the big screen quite often throughout the movies. If you’re prefer something that will give you a buzz, order a galactic twist on a bloody mary called the Bloody Rancor which is topped with a meringue bone garnish.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, otherwise knows as the Black Spire Outpost on Planet Bantuu, serves as the main dining quarters in Galaxy’s Edge. All hungry guests traveling the galaxy have to do is look for the delivery shuttle parked on top of the facility to know where to go. Proprietor Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs runs the kitchen, having once honed his cooking craft in the kitchen of Maz Kanata; expect the menu to be just as astonishing as your surroundings. The theme park truly wants what you eat to be apart of the story.
Foods vary from Fried Endorian Tip-Yip and Smoked Kaadu Ribs to vegan and vegetarian options like Felucian Garden Spread, a plant-based kefta “meatball” dish.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Ronto Wraps, filled with spiced grilled sausage and roasted pork, as you watch “a weary droid turns a crank that spins slabs of their meat beneath a slow-roaster made out of an old podracer engine.”
If we were you, we’d buy our Disneyland pass now before another spike in prices!
